Job Opening 

The 9 Spokes smart dashboard enables small and medium businesses to connect their software to one dynamic interface, allowing management and advisors to access data and metrics across key areas, from any device at any time, to manage and grow their business.  To integrate software into the dashboard as well as choose from a selection of recommended and accredited apps to suit their industry.
We are looking for a Head of  Engineering to set the technical direction for 9 Spokes with Agile practices working directly with Developers and Architects, guiding them to a successful outcome whilst building the future architecture.
A key responsibility is to define the Solution Architecture, and to work with Architects to develop designs for new functionality. You will have direct reports, with your strong vision for best organisational patterns and practices, will lead Developers and Architects within the team to deliver a product that our customers love.  As well as direction, this role needs to provide hands-on coding experience!
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience and working knowledge across the following areas:
  • 8 years+ hands-on experience in Development and Architecture.
  • 2 years+ Solutions Architect experience.
  • Defining Solution Architecture for large scale products.
  • Experience leading, facilitating and mentoring Agile Development Teams and Practices (Kanban and Scrum)
  • Working with clustered/highly available applications preferably for SaaS applications.
  • Strong Java development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of API and integration through OAuth/SAML/Federation.
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Mongo DB and relational database.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Build Automation.
  • An appreciation of small business enterprises (SME) working environments.
  • Exposure to the SaaS domain would be considered a significant advantage.
As a bonus, experience in the following areas would be a nice to have:-
  • Experience working with AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Understanding of financial and banking institutions and/or experience working with banking security.
